SciGuide is an electronic directory of foreign and Russian open access scientific resources on the Internet. The aim of the directory is to assist users to locate open access academic and scholarly content and to facilitate science communication for researchers and experts of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SB RAS). The directory is being developed jointly by the Branch and the Department of Collection Development and Acquisitions of the State Public Scientific Technical Library of SB RAS.

*David Rumsey Historical Map Collection (www.davidrumsey.com/view.html)*The David Rumsey Map Collection was started over 30 years ago and contains more than 150,000 maps. The collection focuses on rare 16th through 21st century maps of North and South America, as well as maps of the World, Asia, Africa, Europe, and Oceania. The collection includes atlases, wall maps, globes, school geographies, pocket maps, books of exploration, maritime charts, and a variety of cartographic materials including pocket, wall, children's, and manuscript maps. Items range in date from about 1550 to the present.
*GEODOK (www.geodok.uni-erlangen.de)*Virtual Geographic Library containing books and articles on human geography, political, economy, social and vegetation, animal geography, population, urban etc.
*GeoNames (www.geonames.org)* The GeoNames geographical database covers all countries and contains over eleven million placenames that are available for download free of charge.
*NYPL Map Warper (maps.nypl.org/warper/)* The New York Public Library's Map Warper is an open-source program for integrating scanned copies of historical maps from the NYPL's collections with digital maps.
*Worldmapper (worldmapper.org)*A project of the University of Sheffield that offers about 700 modern maps with various reference services.
