SciGuide is an electronic directory of foreign and Russian open access scientific resources on the Internet. The aim of the directory is to assist users to locate open access academic and scholarly content and to facilitate science communication for researchers and experts of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SB RAS). The directory is being developed jointly by the Branch and the Department of Collection Development and Acquisitions of the State Public Scientific Technical Library of SB RAS.

*Authorama (www.authorama.com)  ► The site featurs completely free books from a variety of different authors, collected here for you to read online or offline. The great part about the resource is that, unlike most book sites, you can read entire books in your browser itself.
*Bibliomania (bibliomania.com/)  ► Bibliomania has thousands of e-books, poems, articles, short stories and plays all of which are absolutely free. You can read the world's greatest fiction by authors such as Dickens and Joyce, Sherlock Holmes mysteries, all Shakespeare's plays, or just dip into some short stories by writers such as Mark Twain, Anton Chekov and Edgar Allan Poe. It is designed to be of particular interest to school and university students and their teachers and tutors.
*BookFrom.Net (www.bookfrom.net/)  ► Online library for easy reading. Fiction of various genres.
*Classic Literature Library (classic-literature.co.uk)  ► The site presents full texts of classical writers of the UK.
*Classical Chinese Literature (zhongwen.com/gudian.htm)  ► This site contains Chinese classics with each character hyperlinked to its definition and etymology. No Chinese software is necessary - characters are displayed as images. Links to English translations are included for most works.
*Feedbooks (www.feedbooks.com/)  ► A digital library and cloud publishing service for both public domain and original books founded in June 2007 and based in Paris, France. The main focus of the web site is providing e-books with particularly high-quality typesetting in multiple formats, particularly EPUB, Kindle, and PDF formats.
*Fobook (fobook.ru)  ► A Russian site containing adapted and original fiction editions in English.
*Gutenberg Project (www.gutenberg.org/ebooks)  ► An online library of free eBooks. Project Gutenberg was the first provider of free electronic books, or eBooks. Michael Hart, founder of Project Gutenberg, invented eBooks in 1971 and his memory continues to inspire the creation of eBooks and related content today.
*Homeenglish (www.homeenglish.ru)  ► The Russian site offers free access to books in English, either original texts or English texts with Russian translation.
*ImWerden (imwerden.de/)  ► The electronic library was launched in 2000 and since then has been maintained by Andrey Nikitin-Perensky. It features Russian literature editions related to history, philosophy, psychology, technology, etc. The project boasts the largest in the Russian internet collection of audio and video recordings of authors reading their own works, such as Sergey Yesenin, Vladimir Mayakovsky, Arseniy Tarkovsky and many others.
*Komarov’s Library (ilibrary.ru/)  ► Alexey Komarov’s Internet Library is one of the oldest and most famous Russian online collections founded in 1996. It contains poems and novels of classical Russian authors.
*Legamus! (legamus.eu/blog)  ► Legamus! (Latin: let’s read together!) makes free audio books from texts that are in the Public Domain in Europe. In this context, Public Domain means that copyright has expired on the original text. In Europe and many other parts of the world, copyright protection expires 70 years after the author’s death. Legamus only records texts that were published in or after 1923. These texts are still protected by copyright in the USA. Texts published before this date are in the Public Domain in the USA and are recorded by LibriVox.org.
*Leo Tolstoy (tolstoy.ru/)  ► 90 volumes of Leo Tolstoys’s novels in free access.
*LibriVox (librivox.org)  ► A non-commercial, non-profit and ad-free project. LibriVox volunteers record chapters of books in the public domain, and then the audio files are release back onto the net for free. All audio is in the public domain, so you may use it for whatever purpose you wish.
*Linguabooster (linguabooster.com)  ► LinguaBooster.com website is designed for easy reading of foreign literature in its original form. The main idea of the site is the following: the user selects a book and reads it through a browser. If he encounters a new word for himself, he can view its translation.
*Lonnrot (www.lonnrot.net)  ► Free book in Finnish and Swedish.
*Mybrary (mybrary.ru)  ► Access to Russian books online: romance novels, adventure, action, fantasy and other genres.
*Openculture (openculture.com/free_ebooks)  ► Free eBooks to your Kindle, iPad/iPhone, computer, smart phone or ereader. The Collection includes great works of fiction, non-fiction and poetry, including works by Asimov, Jane Austen, Philip K. Dick, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Neil Gaiman, Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Shakespeare, Ernest Hemingway, Virginia Woolf & James Joyce. *OpenLibrary (openlibrary.org)  ► Open Library is a project of the non-profit Internet Archive, and has been funded in part by a grant from the California State Library and the Kahle/Austin Foundation.
*Pagebypagebooks (www.pagebypagebooks.com)  ► Page by Page books is committed to bringing you a wide selection of the best public domain books available, all in an easy to read format.
*PDF Books World (pdfbooksworld.com/)  ► PDF Books World offers free eBooks on fiction, non-fiction, academic, textbooks and children's categories for download online in high quality PDF format.Book reading has transformed from Paper editions to electronic formats and contemporary reading is not just limited to Personal Computers but to various handheld devices like Tablets and Mobiles. Considering the demand for e-reading in cross-platform devices books have been created with separate editions optimized for devices of different screen size like PCs,Tablets and Mobiles. Membership registration is required to download pdf books online.
*Planetpublish (planetpublish.com)  ► Free PDF eBooks Archive by Planet PDF.
*RoyalLib (royallib.com/)  ► A collection of fiction and research literature published in Russia.
*Wolnelektury (wolnelektury.pl)  ► Wolne Lektury is a project carried out by the Modern Poland Foundation. Digital reproductions are made by The National Library, the Silesian Library and the Library of Elbląg, based on NL, US and LE resources. Hosting: ICM. Site of freely downloadable Polish books.
*World of Journals (журнальныймир.рф/)  ► The project of the oldest literary Russian journal “Sibirskie Ogni” featuring Russian language literary journals and yearbooks published in Russia.
